Months ago, my daughter requested an owl birthday party. I never ask "Why?" when my kids come up with themes, I just roll with it. As it happens, owls are pretty popular right now, so it was a fun theme to run with! These are my first attempt at cake pops!
In theory, they are pretty simple to make . . . but I will admit they were a bit time consuming. I'm not sure exactly how long it took me to make these as I worked on them in stages. At least two hours . . . maybe three. My friend, Heather, came up with the creative idea of how to display them--don't you love my owl's nest? That was the easy part!
Awhile back, I found this cute template that showed how to make owl buckets. Unfortunately, I have no idea where I saw it--sorry! Paige cut the owl parts out of adhesive foam and put these together all by herself. Then we loaded them up with some owl favors and treats!
The girls have been in a drawing art class for the last year. The LOVE this class! Paige wanted me to teach everyone how to draw an owl and to use chalk pastels. So, I grabbed a step by step drawing book that I had on hand and taught the girls how to draw an owl. They were totally into this! It was complete silence as they focused on drawing. : )
Happy Birthday Paige! We are so blessed to have you as our daughter.
