the mother's day cards

I love receiving cards . . . especially the handmade kind. I have shared some of my husband's cards here before . . . he started making me cards shortly after we were first married. I think it started as a way to save money, he didn't like the idea of spending $4 on a card and didn't like how cheesy most of them were. He now makes me cards for every occassion. I think it has turned into a challenge or a game for him . . . he likes to see if he can top his last card. And just in case you were wondering, my husband has no feminine qualities about him, he is very much a guys guy. I'm not sure how he pulled this next one off . . . he promises me he didn't see it anywhere and came up with the idea all by himself. Here is the card . . .

I have done these ribbon flowers before, but I don't think he's seen them. And he certainly has never picked up one of my card magazines. I think he did pretty good. I especially love the doodling he did around the entire outside of the card. He said it took him awhile to color match the ribbons . . . apparently I have too many to choose from.

And now for the girls cards . . .

Faith loves to stamp.

Paige's card. I love the pictures of she and I with hearts on our dresses. So cute!

For Mother's Day, we went to lunch at Whole Foods, did a little shopping and then walked around at The Fountains for a bit. It was cold! (for CA) Although Paige thought it would warm up, so she had to wear shorts. We came home and Faith wanted to have a fire in the fireplace and play a game. It was a relaxing afternoon. I love my family. Hope you had a great Mother's Day too!

I happened upon your blog and it's great! Love your AC brad card and MDay card! I'm also on a very restrictive diet (for MS) - I'm going to try some of your recipes! thanks for sharing!
